A new ordinance favored by L.A. City Council on Tuesday may force many Venice Beach boardwalk vendors to move their goods elsewhere. Council unanimously approved a measure prohibiting commercial vending along the west side of Ocean Front Walk in a 12-0 vote.

Fatal Knife Fight Last Night on the Venice Boardwalk
A heated confrontation between two men identified as transients escalated to violence last night on the Venice Boardwalk, according to LA Now, and as a result, one man is dead and the other has been arrested. The fight took place just after 6 p.m. at Ocean Front Walk and Westminster Avenue. During the altercation, one man took out a knife and attacked the other; the "victim was stabbed eight to nine times," notes the Daily Breeze. He died at the hospital.
