Man Sentenced in Sledgehammer Murder

A Los Angeles man was sentenced today to serve 26 years to life behind bars after bludgeoning another man to death with a sledgehammer. According to the Daily News, 21-year-old Adam Quintana was found guilty of the 2008 murder of Fernando Garcia, also 21 at the time of his death, whose body was later found dumped in a trash bin in Boyle Hieghts. more ›

Running desperately low on the rare blood type, health officials in Antelope Valley put out an urgent call for O-negative blood donors yesterday. "The blood bank is experiencing a significant increase in the number of patients requiring this rare blood type," the AV Hospital Blood Donor Center stated in an e-mail appeal. "Due to an ongoing regional shortage of type O-negative blood we have been unable to obtain additional replacement units from outside suppliers." more ›

Kim then used that to sue Son, but a lower court and the Fourth District Court of Appeal in Santa Ana yesterday said it was a "gratuitous unenforceable promise."
