Tonight San Diegan retro 60s rock act the Donkeys will be headlining Spaceland with Foreign Born side-project Big Search in tow. Austin-based garage rockers Harlem are poised to grace the Echo with Echo Park's own psych-rockers Black Apples and Audacity. And, lastly, local funk troupe Orgone will be performing for free at noon in the heart of Downtown at California Plaza. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echoplex to catch lo-fi, psychedelic pop maestros Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, who recently released their ninth studio-album—2010's Before Today. LAist favorites, local lo-fi pop trio Pearl Harbor, who are currently operating under the moniker Puro Instinct, and Memphis-bred orchestral pop outfit Magic Kids are slated to kick things off.

Tonight In Rock: Gillian Welch, Banyan, Ikoma, Black Apples
Tonight experimental jazz rockers Banyan, which features prominent players like Nels Cline, Stephen Perkins and Mike Watt, will be performing at the Mint. Brighton-based experimental rockers Ikoma are headlining Spaceland. And Echo Park's own psych-rockers Black Apples will be playing at the Silver Lake Lounge. But we strongly recommend going to experience Nashville-based bluegrass singer-songwriter Gillian Welch, who will be belting out ethereal notes at Largo at the Coronet.
