Yesterday we found out that Nadya Suleman, the Whittier mother who gave birth to octuplets last week, hired a public relations firm to deal with all the national media attention the family has been getting. And like last time, it's not as supportive as you would expect a grandma to be. However, it is realistic: "Her dad and I have told her she has six beautiful children. Why do you want more?" she told PEOPLE in its new issue that will hit newsstands on Friday. "She is a good person but a little misguided." Apparently, she thinks Nadya is trying to compensate for not having any siblings. "She was always upset about not having brothers and sisters," she said. "[Nadya] really is a good mother... Little is still known about the Whittier woman who gave birth to the clan on Monday in Bellflower, but her father--who she lives with along with her mother--told the Associated Press that once the babies are released from the hospital, the media won't be able to hunt them down. Richard Walker Sault was quite the surprise. Born two days before Christmas in Laguna Hills, he was larger than expected. Much larger. 14 pounds, 2 ounces, which is double the size of average newborns. He was delivered by caesarean section by the hands of two doctors (one was not enough for this big boy) and the family is reported to be in good health. more ›

The Daily News got their hands dirty and visited Dr. Cappy Rothman, founder of the reportedly larger sperm bank in the world, California Cryobank. "Based in Westwood, he draws many students from UCLA, though USC also is a contributor. He has satellite depositories in Palo Alto, near Stanford, and in Cambridge, Mass., convenient to Harvard and MIT. 'We try to locate our collecting facilities close to universities that have bright donors,' Rothman said. His sperm bank sometimes runs ads in student newspapers to attract donors. The attraction: $75 per donation, a maximum of three per week. For the truly ambitious donor, shy on cash but brimming with outgoing sperm, that would add up to a maximum of $11,700 per year." more ›
