The 33-year-old Whittier woman apparently told TV therapist Dr. Phil McGraw that she feared Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Bellflower might not release the babies to her, according to the Associated Press (via Huffington Post).

Although Whittier's Nadya Suleman had her sights set on Oprah, the woman dubbed "Octo-Mom" by the media seems pretty content spilling her secrets to the Today Show. She gave her first interview to NBC's Anny Curry, which was broadcast today, and defended her choice to bear 14 children via in vitro fertilization, including the octuplets born in Bellflower two weeks ago.

Despite criticism of having eight babies by in vitro--and not to mention already having six children prior to the newborns--mother Nadya Suleman "has been inundated with offers for media interviews, talk show appearances and jobs as a baby expert," according to ABC News.

Nadya Suleman, the 33-year-old single mother of 14--including those headline-making octuplets born a week ago--has a proposition for the world: Make her a star...and pay for her children.

After giving birth to octuplets last week at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center, Angelenos, and people all over the country, wanted to know more about the babies' parents. 33-year-old Nadya Suleman tried to keep her identity a secret, but when it was revealed that the woman had six other children already, controversy began to swirl around the remarkable event.

She gave birth to octuplets this week, but already had six kids, including twins. Little is still known about the Whittier woman who gave birth to the clan on Monday in Bellflower, but her father--who she lives with along with her mother--told the Associated Press that once the babies are released from the hospital, the media won't be able to hunt them down. "We have a huge house, not here," he said. "You are never going to know where it is."

Those octuplets born yesterday in Bellflower are reportedly doing well. "The orchestrated delivery went off without a hitch," said Dr. Harold Henry via the LA Times. "The babies are all doing well and the mom is also doing well. There were no complications from the surgery to the best of my knowledge."

Congratulations to the brave and strong-hearted mother who gave birth today to six boys and two girls weighing between 1.8 pounds and 3.4 pounds, according to the Associated Press. It all happened between 10:43 a.m. to 10:48 a.m. Yes, that's five minutes, eight babies. Apparently, this is the second time in history live octuplets have been born. Congrats, again, to the family!
