This weekend was the very definition of a beach weekend, and a perfect one for some serious beach volleyball at that. The 2009 AVP Crocs Slam Bud Light Manhattan Beach Open hit the shores Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and "Manhattan Beach is considered by many as 'the granddaddy' of the AVP Crocs Tour. Players say once you win in Manhattan Beach, you really have made it on the AVP Tour," explains their official site.

AVP at Huntington Beach This Weekend
The AVP Crocs tour is making it's stop in Orange County at the Huntington Beach Open.
On the men's side, Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers will be the team to beat as they captured the Houston Open last weekend. Nipping at their heels is Jake Gibb and Sean Rosenthal who have reached three finals this season but are still searching for their first title.

They've now won two gold medals, can they both make baby Olympians now? In an interview with NBC's Bob Coasts, the answer is yes. Misty May Treanor told him that "We'd like to make beach volleyball players for the future." During the first week of the games, they said they both want to be pregnant next year with cautious plans (you know, priorities change when you have a kid) to return to playing afterwards.
