While watching the Oscars at home in my bedroom, I got an email informing me that I was invited to Prince's Post-Oscar party. Me? The guy who was sitting in his room watching the Oscars in a sweaty t-shirt and shorts thanks to some much needed time at the gym was now going to be partying with Prince at his ultra-exclusive post-Oscar party.

LA Angels defeat NY Yankees 12-6. The Angels continue to roll. This time they used three Earl Weavers hit by Torii Hunter, Juan Rivera and Vladimir Guerrero to put the beating on the Yanks. Jon Garland had a good outing for the Angels going six plus innings giving up three runs on seven hits. While Darren O’Day made the game more interesting than it needed to giving up three runs in the ninth, Jose Arredondo got things back under control getting the last three batters out.

LA Dodgers defeat Colorado Rockies 16-10. In an effort to conserve energy, the Colorado Rockies apparently decided to turn of the humidor. The Dodgers came out with a bang scoring eight runs in the first inning. They would go on to take an 11-0 lead in the third inning, but Coors Field being what it is the Rockies would make a comeback. After being shut out for the first two innings, the Rockies scored at least one run in the remaining seven innings but couldn't catch up. Rockie's shortstop Troy Tulowitzki in his first game of the disabled list went 5-5 with a sacrifice fly. The same fortune would be shared with Rockie's starter Kip Wells in his first action since the end of April. He gave up eight runs in that first frame that essentially sealed the deal for the Rockies. The Dodgers pitching fared a little better but not by much. Despite having a 12-3 lead in the fourth inning, Eric Stults was very erratic and was taken out of the game. How did now-retired Hideo Nomo ever pitch a no-no at Coors Field pre-humidor?

LA Dodgers defeat Houston Astros 4-1. They did it with pitching, defense, a squeeze play, power and the bullpen. Whodathunkit? Starter Hiroki Kuroda went seven scoreless innings in his first outing since coming off the disabled list, Luis Maza squeezed in a run in the fourth and Andre Ethier hit a solo shot in the fifth. Meanwhile the Dodgers sent start Clayton Kershaw back down to AA Jacksonville to make room for Kuroda. Hopefully he'll improve on his command. Also word has it the Nomar Garciaparra will be back soon to play shortstop. Though the funniest sentence according to the Dodgers.com piece says, "Garciaparra did not field any balls at short, but he did dive for a couple balls that went up the middle for singles."

As we mentioned earlier today, Los Angeles native Baron Davis is headed home and he's bringing his beard and 21 points per game with him. The former Crossroads School and UCLA standout came to a verbal agreement with the LA's other team, making the Clippers suddenly relevant and a playoff contender. Baron credits the community for his decision telling ESPN, "I'm happy with where I'm going. A big reason is because of the impact and the things that I can do going forward. I knew I could have done them here and created all kinds of good things and positive things in the community, and ultimately, me going home helps me make an impact on young kids." Elton Brand, who opted out Monday is expected to re-sign with the Clips for a hometown discount. Baron and Brand! Clipper Nation hasn't been this excited since the Red, White and Blue marched all the way into the second round of the playoffs in 2006.

Former Golden State Warrior's guard Baron Davis is now a Clipper. According to ESPN.com, Davis has agreed verbally to a five-year $65 million deal. The Clippers are now expected to re-sign forward Elton Brand who opted out of the final year of his contract last night.
