LA Lakers defeat Atlanta Hawks 101-87. Poor Moses Malone. On Monday Minnesota Timberwolves’ Kevin Love tied his record of 51 consecutive double-doubles and looks poised to break the record on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers.

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Pecked in Eyes by Hawks
Atlanta Hawks defeat LA Lakers 109-92. No defense, no Lamar Odom, no bench, no win. The Hawks dominated the paint outscoring the Lakers 44-26 and double teamed Pau Gasol daring the Lakers to settle for perimeter shots. The Lakers bit on it unable to dictate much of anything for a second consecutive game. While Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 28 points and Pau Gasol despite being mugged getting a double-double with 16 points...
LAst Night's Action: Clippers Involved In Another Deal, Still Lose
Atlanta Hawks defeat LA Clippers 110-92. The Clippers second game of a back-to-back starts off exactly like the first: a trade. This time the Clippers were instruments in the Cleveland Cavaliers getting Antawn Jameson from the Washington Wizards. The Clips sent Al Thornton to Washington and Sebastian Telfair to Cleveland while getting Drew Gooden from Washington. Meanwhile on the court a player from Tuesday’s trade with Portland Steve Blake got the start for the Clips. Although he only managed three points and two rebounds in 32 minutes while turning the ball over three times, he did get nine assists. Chris Kaman returned to his All Star form with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Eric Gordon and Rasual Butler got 18 points each. But the Hawks were just too much for the Clips who still have yet to win a game with Kim Hughes as head coach.
LAst Night's Action: Lakers Get Over the Bobcat's Hump
LA Lakers defeat Charlotte Bobcats 99-97. It took more than four years, but the Lakers finally beat the Bobcats again at home. It was another choppy game, but this time the Lakers didn’t cede the lead at the end of the game. Lamar Odom led the Lakers in scoring with 19 points while Andrew Bynum had 17 points and 14 rebounds. Kobe Bryant after setting the scoring mark on Monday scored a measly five points thanks to tweaking his ankle after getting tied up with Odom who has a penchant for being involved in his teammates’ injuries. Stephen Jackson scored 30 for the Cats while Nazr Mohammed filled in nicely for an absent Gerald Wallace with 23 points. This win now gives coach Phil Jackson the most wins for a Lakers coach.
LAst Night's Action: Second Half Same as the First
LA Lakers defeat Atlanta Hawks 96-83. Well it wasn't exactly just like the first half for the Lakers. Kobe Bryant scored a season-low 10 points in the rout of the Hawks. However Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and Jordan Farmar more than made up for it. Gasol got his third career triple-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists while Lamar Odom scored 15 points while securing a season high 20 rebounds. Farmar cleaned things up for the second unit scoring 10 points. The only negative for the Lakers in the game was they gave up 23 turnovers.
LAst Night's Action: Lakers Effort All for Naught
San Antonio Spurs defeat LA Lakers 112-111. What a remarkable game! The game was close throughout, although the Spurs did manage to take an 11 point lead in the fourth quarter. The Lakers led by Kobe Bryant came storming back to eventually take a one point lead. Now for the "naught". After Kobe sinks a three pointer to get the 111-109 lead Roger Mason receives the inbound pass, fakes out Derek Fisher causing Fisher to foul Mason just as his off-balance shot goes through the net with 10 seconds on the clock. Mason makes his free throw, one point lead. Kobe takes the ball down the court and passes to Trevor Ariza at the top of the arc who drives to the paint, trips and gets called for the travel with 0.8 seconds left. Game over. Much kudos goes to Spero Dedes and Mychal Thompson on the radio call. They do a great job broadcasting games, and this game was no different.
LAst Night's Action: Dodgers Continue To Roll
LA Dodgers (18-14) over NY Mets (16-14) 5-1. If Rafael Furcal continues to produce how he has so far this season, he will hands down be the MVP of the league. Furcal led things off for the Dodgers with a lead-off solo homer on a 0-2 pitch, and NL player of the week Matt Kemp added a two-run shot in the fifth inning. But none was given as much fanfare as Blake DeWitt's first major league home run to lead off the fifth which demanded a curtain call. The hottest team in the majors have now won 11 of their last 14 games and have cut what was once a seven-game deficit to the Arizona Diamondbacks to three games.
LAst Night's Action: Lakers Sweep out the Nuggets
LA Lakers over Denver Nuggets 107-101. The Nuggets played some D. Well they didn't play D like the Detroit Pistons and they benefited from some very shaky Laker offense. But they played with enough desperation to put a scare in the Lakers. In the end, though, it was to be won by the Lakers who won their first playoff series since the 2004 Western Conference Final against the Minnesota Timberwolves and their first sweep since the 2002 NBA Finals against the New Jersey Nets. The Lakers will await the winner of the Utah Jazz-Houston Rockets series with the Jazz leading the series 3-1.
Best February NBA Game Since Forever
Was that a game or what? The Lakers staved off Phoenix’s charges to eventually pull out the 130-124 victory in Shaq’s Suns debut.
