LA Dodgers (14-13) defeat Florida Marlins (15-12) 13-1. The Dodgers are an offensive juggernaut on a five-game winning streak. Seriously. Manager Joe Torre made the unprecedented move to use the same lineup two nights in a row, and the Dodgers rewarded him. Rafael Furcal had a career-high five hit game, Russell Martin hit a solo homer in the second inning to lead the scoring and James Loney and Blake DeWitt hit bases-clearing triples in......

Arizona Diamondbacks (16-6) defeat LA Dodgers (9-13) 6-4. The good news: the Dodgers scored more than one run. The bad news: the Dodgers still lost. Chad Billingsley (0-4) started off shakily but eventually struck out six of eight consecutive batters. Jeff Kent and Joe Torre were ejected from the game in the top of the ninth for arguing a blown call in the eighth inning when second base umpire Andy Fletcher said Kent was......

LA Lakers defeat Denver Nuggets 122-107. Kobe Bryant showed his MVP colors scoring 49 points to go along with 10 assists. Despite that, the Lakers are starting to play with fire. With a defense as porous as a sieve and complacency of taking bad perimeter shots against a weak zone, the Lakers got away with one. True the Lakers got the win, but it should have been a more dominant showing. It didn't help......

LA Angels defeat Cleveland Indians 9-5. Mike Napoli hits his first grand slam in the second inning to get things rolling for the Angels. They didn't need to rely on a closer this time. But I'm sorta pissed at them since because of them the Dodgers game was blacked out on MLB.tv. Arizona Diamondbacks defeat LA Dodgers 4-3. Things looked good when the Dodgers got a 1-0 lead, the first time they led in......

Arizona Diamondbacks defeat LA Dodgers 10-5. The Dodgers need to rely on their pitching because they are not a great offensive club. When the pitching goes south, so goes the Dodgers. Monday night Esteban Loaiza had a bad outing. Tonight it was Chad Billingsley's turn. 2 2/3 innings, five runs and five hits just will not cut it. Oh, and odds are we won't see another hit from Andruw Jones until July. Portland Trailblazers......

Kansas Jayhawks over Memphis Tigers 75-68 (OT). The Jayhawks were down nine with 2:12 left to go in regulation to tie it on a Mario Chalmers three-pointer with 2.1 seconds left to go. Kansas shut down Memphis in overtime to win their third National Championship, their first since 1988. Arizona Diamondbacks defeat LA Dodgers 9-3. Dodger starting pitcher Esteban Loaiza got torched by the D-Back hitters spotting them four runs in the first inning.......

Your resident gay-bashing gay sports blogger here amped up for the start of the baseball postseason! And seeing how the regular season ended Monday night in the fabulous game that sent the Padres packing, this should be an exciting postseason. What makes this year’s action exciting is only one of the eight teams were in last year’s playoffs: the New York Yankees. This year there is a team that has only been to the......

Last night's playoff game to see who would go to the playoffs was really great. But bro was out at home. Therefore the outcome of the game is a sham. Colorado and San Diego played 162 games and they had to play an extra game last night to settle their tie. The game went into 13 innings. Totally exciting, totally awesome, a classic game. But when Brian Giles threw home to Michael Barrett, Barrett......

Yesterday's Dodger game was worth the long drive and the unbelievable heat and even the helmet sundae fiasco. All of the elements of a great game were there: Randy Johnson was starting (against Randy Wolf for a Randy vs. Randy battle which made me giggle), Martin hit a 2 run home run in the 1st inning which made the rest of the game seem easy, every Dodger in the starting lineup made it on......

On the heels of taking two games out of three from the San Diego Padres this weekend, the Dodgers have run their record to 8-4, and trail the division leading Arizona Diamondbacks by only one-half game. First place will be up for grabs when the Dodgers travel to Phoenix for a two-game set on Monday. A small component of the Dodgers' on-field success thus far has been the play of veteran utility player Marlon......

Jim Tracy may want to rethink his decision to pull Kaz Ishii from the rotation. In yesterday's 7-6 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, the Dodgers saw the reclamation project of Hideo Nomo take a step backward. Nomo sputtered, giving up six runs in 3 2/3 innings, leading one to wonder if his shoulder can hold up against any team not called the Arizona Diamondbacks. So with Nomo a question mark, Brad Penny still......

Thank goodness for the Arizona Diamondbacks! After last night's 5-3 win, completing a Dodgers sweep of Arizona, the Azul moved to 16-3 against the Diamondbacks this season. Where would the Dodgers be without the Diamondbacks this season? Well, the Dodgers now have a pseudo-comfortable five game lead over the Giants, which would effectively be nothing if LA were say, 11-8 against Arizona. That all said, the Arizona Diamondbacks are not making the playoffs, and......

About the only thing consistent about the Dodgers this season is their inconsistencies. Two weeks ago, the Dodgers had lost six straight, were in third place, and considered becoming sellers at the trade deadline. Today, the Azul find themselves winners of five straight and atop the National League West. Last night Kaz Ishii pitched the best game of his MLB career, giving up just one hit and facing only 29 batters in a complete......
