On Saturday night, Space 15 Twenty will transform into a living art market called "Los Angeles, I'm Yours". This Poketo and Kitsune Noir collaboration is the brainchild of Ted Vadakan and Angie Myung of Poketo and Bobby Solomon of Kitsune Noir. The market will feature the work of more that 30 artists and promises to be an innovative and inspiring love letter to LA.

Surfer Blood @ the Echoplex 03/27/10
It seems like everyone we speak to has a hankering for the baby-faced band that is Surfer Blood. We loved them at The Village Voice party at SXSW and decided to check them out locally for the Aquarium Drunkard presented-Waved Out last Saturday. Of course, any band claiming Pavement and Yo La Tengo as influences is on the right path, but it's a really good thing Surfer Blood have got the musical chops to back up their indie rock know-how. And it doesn't hurt that they are, to cite a fan and local LA band manager who I ran into that night, "so adorable I want to put them in my pocket and manage them forever". Definitely.
Meet Justin Gage - Founder of Aquarium Drunkard and Autumn Tone Records
It wasn't supposed to get this big. Justin Gage started a blog named after a Wilco lyric called Aquarium Drunkard in the summer of 2005 so that he could let his buddies know what he was listening to. "It was just an easier way than email to share with friends, who had spread out across the country, whatever books I was reading or movies I was watching, or obviously, music I was listening to." Gage told us over some beers in Silver Lake. "It started out as just my immediate circle of friends and then people I didn't know started reading it, and quickly became just focused on music."
The blog flourished, and within a year was being read not just by Gage's buddies, but by people all over the US and around the world.
The Sweet Hurt, Willoughby, The Parson Redheads & The Spires @ Spaceland, 11/1/08
On Saturday night, The Parson Redheads (MySpace) -- previously mentioned here -- headlined a local Aquarium Drunkard (MySpace) showcase at Spaceland (MySpace) in Silver Lake, supported by openers The Sweet Hurt (MySpace) and Willougby (MySpace) as well as the Ventura-based The Spires (MySpace).
LAist Interview: Jax of Rock Insider and Justin of Aquarium Drunkard at SXSW
We ran into two of our favorite LA-based music bloggers, Justin Gage of Aquarium Drunkard and Ashley Jex (Jax) of Rock Insider at SXSW last week. We ducked behind The Mohawk, where Aquarium Drunkard cosponsored the Hot Freaks! day party featuring performances by Jens Lekman, Film School, British Sea Power and more.
