The woman identified as Stanesha Nicole Allen, 31, of Lake Los Angeles has been charged with a DUI, according to the Los Angeles Times. It's not clear yet what Allen's relationship to all the kids is.

Former NFL Raider Anthony Smith Charged in 2008 Murder
A former NFL player for the Raiders has been charged, along with two others, for the 2008 murder of a Lancaster man. Anthony Wayne Smith, 43, played as defensive end for the Raiders between 1991 and 1998. At the time of the crime, Smith lived in Marina del Rey.
Smith, along with Charles Eric Honest, 41, of Los Angeles, and Dewann Wesley White, 32, of Bloomington, were charged last month with murdering 31-year-old Maurilio Ponce on Oct. 7, 2008.
Dog-Fighting Ring Busted; 17 Dogs Rescued
A dog-fighting training center, complete with surgical equipment, treadmills, a portable fighting ring with dried blood on the posts and more than a dozen pit bulls was shut down by L.A. County sheriffs deputies in the Antelope Valley Wednesday.
L.A. Sheriff's deputies coordinated the raid over the past month, based on an anonymous tip left on the county's 24-hour Dog Fighting Hotline.
Health Inspector Impostor Targeting Local Restaurants
Restaurants in the Antelope Valley and Glendale have become the target of a fake health inspector, reports KTLA, and police are warning restaurant employees to be mindful of the scam -- although they're not exactly sure how the scam works. Authorities say the man appears at restaurants, claims to be a health inspector from either the California Department of Public Health or the Orange County Department of Public Health, and "asks restaurant owner to call a phone number and enter a numeric code, according to police.

It's Pouring Rain Not Too Far from L.A. [Updated]
In its 3 p.m. broadcast today, KCAL 9 showed footage of pouring rain and flash flooding in Lake Elsinore. Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said the storm cell was producing two to four inches per hour. That's quite a difference from the clear blue skies and extreme heat we're feeling here in the immediate Los Angeles area.

11-Year-Old Girl Stabbed to Death, Teenager Arrested
Sheriff's Deputies quickly found and arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of an 11-year-old girl this morning. At 7:40 a.m., deputies were called to a home in Littlerock, an unincorporated town in Antelope Valley. Outside was a wounded 14-year-old girl who was sent to the hospital in critical condition. The 11-year-old was found dead inside. A suspect who may be related to the two girls has been arrested. A motive is still being investigated.
Crown Fire Continues to Burn in Northern L.A. County
Of the three fires ignited in northern Los Angeles County on Thursday afternoon, one remains a threat as it continues to grow. The Crown Fire has scorched some 8,000 acres between Acton and the Palmdale/Lancaster area. The fire was first reported at 2:22 p.m. and may have started in a vacant lot where "workers were apparently using a hammer to extract nails from tire rims," according to the LA Times.

Lancaster Voters to Decide on Prayer at City Council Meetings
Tuesday is election day in various parts of Los Angeles County, but one measure up in the Antelope Valley is making headlines. The city of Lancaster's Measure I asks if invocation from different faiths should continue to be delivered before City Council meetings. The issue was brought up by the ACLU, which threatened to sue, last year. In response, the council put a measure on the ballot to see whether or not the community supports it. "If the vast majority of the community is in favor of this, I think the court should know that," said Mayor R. Rex Parris to the LA Times.

So you go the gas pump, insert your card and fill the tank. What you may not know is that a thief installed a card skimmer on the pump so they could steal your info and re-crete the card for their own purchase. Three prolific identify theft suspects were arrested of just that today by a large task force led by the L.A. County Sheriff's Department with the FBI, LAPD, Glendale Police, ICE, USPS and U.S. Attorneys Office.
Regional Drop in O-Negative Blood Highlights Need for a New Habit in Californians
Running desperately low on the rare blood type, health officials in Antelope Valley put out an urgent call for O-negative blood donors yesterday. "The blood bank is experiencing a significant increase in the number of patients requiring this rare blood type," the AV Hospital Blood Donor Center stated in an e-mail appeal. "Due to an ongoing regional shortage of type O-negative blood we have been unable to obtain additional replacement units from outside suppliers."
More Evacuation Centers Open as Station Fire Moves into Antelope Valley
Evacuation centers have been opened in two more schools to shelter residents who are being asked to leave their homes in the Antelope Valley due to the Station Fire. In addition to the first evacuation center opened in the region at Highland High School in Palmdale, shelters are now accepting evacuees at Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita and Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga. The Glendale Unified School District announced early this morning they were canceling all classes on what would have been the first day of the school year; the GUSD is housing one evacuation center at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta. The La Cañada Unified School District, which is housing an evacuation center at La Cañada High, is expected to announce later today if they, too, will close tomorrow and postpone their first day of school.
