The Angels may be in the middle of a 10-game road trip but that didn't keep a display of power away from Angel Stadium this week. In fact, there may be nobody around to turn the power back on when the team returns next Tuesday.
Workers at Angel Stadium voted on Thursday to authorize a strike after seeing their wages frozen by management.

Metrolink Adds Discounted Trains to U2 Angel Stadium Concerts
The seemingly neverending 360 Tour brings U2 to Angel Stadium on Friday and Saturday night. With fans expected to come from all corners of Southern California, traffic will be a mess, especially coinciding with Friday rush hour. If you're going to the show, try to carpool or -- better yet -- take the train.

Angel Stadium Is a Dirty Cesspool
Angels fans can be quite snooty. They find Dodger Stadium to be dirty and violent. Thanks to the Gwendolyn Driscoll of the Orange County Register, I can now refute one of those claims. In the last 2 1/2 years Orange County officials found 118 vermin violations at stadium kiosks and restaurants. Of those reports, 33 represent "major" violdations, in which "rodent activity" was observed by health inspectors in a "critical area" of 18 stadium...
LAst Night's Action: Juiced And Bagel For Dodgers
Braves 4, Dodgers 0 - Atlanta jumped out to an early lead, which is something you don't want to give John Smoltz. The starter-turned-closer-turned-starter hurled seven shutout innings just ten days ahead of his 40th birthday. The Jones boys (Andruw and Chipper) didn't produce a hit, but combined for three walks and scored three runs. The Dodgers had ten base runners and even juiced the bases in the fourth with nobody out. Smoltz still held...
School For The Dodgers, Angels Get Off The Floor
The Dodgers weren't exactly limping going into Angel Stadium; after
all, getting swept on the road isn't the most noteworthy stumble, and besides,
they'd swept the lowly Pirates and salvaged the last game of the
Seattle series just before that. Despite losing the division lead to
San Diego, it wasn't like they were hopelessly out of first; even the
division-trailing Diamondbacks were only four and a half games out,
and nobody had really made a move to dominate the division.
So when Brad Penny ascended the mound to dominate the Angels over
seven strong innings, it came as a
welcome reminder that the team could actually win games. His
resulting win — a

Help Out Those in Need
Americans rose to the occasion when the Asian tsunami hit in December. Now it's time to help out a little closer to home. A few local media outlets have set up emergency relief centers where Los Angelenos can drop off check, cash or credit card donations. Here are a few:
Football Frenzy
LAist thinks the Rose Bowl renovation plan is a good one for the city of Pasadena. It's important to remember Pasadena is not debating building a football stadium. The Rose Bowl is there and not going anywhere. The question is how to ensure the economic viability of a facility that loses $2 million a year.

Football Wars: LA vs. O.C.
The future of LA football took a dramatic turn yesterday, as it was learned that the NFL contacted Anaheim about potentially building a stadium. The proposed facility would be placed right by Angel Stadium and be paid for by the NFL or the incoming pro team.
