Interview: Zack Pearlman Goes All The Way

For anyone questioning those 'Are you still a virgin' billboards around town, seek your answers no further than Zack Pearlman, charismatic co-star of the new Gary Sanchez-produced flick The Virginity Hit. If you haven't already seen the trailer, suffice it to say The Virginity Hit takes a very viral look at one teen's attempt to make his first time...ahem... memorable. more ›

LAist at Comic-Con: The Other Guys

What do you get when you put Adam McKay and Will Ferrell together? Hilarity. There was Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Step Brothers, the Funny or Die classic clip “The Landlord” and countless hours of sketches on “Saturday Night Live.” The list goes on, though you can now add two more items: their new movie The Other Guys and the following press conference they gave at Comic-Con 2010 to promote The Other Guys, in which you will learn nothing about the movie, but a lot about how these two work so well together. LAist was on hand to record the session. Cast members Eva Mendes and Mark Wahlberg joined McKay and Ferrell. more ›

Weekend Movie Guide: Ferrell & McKay 4!

I know Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are considered by most to be sort of old-hat by now, but I'm still excited to see The Other Guys. Obviously, Anchorman is a modern classic and Step Brothers is a daffy, surreal piece of brilliance. I don't expect as much from The Other Guys, but it should still be fun. I'm boycotting Step Up 3-D due to the absence of Brianna Evigan. Sorry, but Middle Men just looks boring. Luke Wilson's perfected disinterest works in a film like The Royal Tennenbaums, but here he just looks bored. more ›

Movie Review: The Foot Fist Way

Movie Review: The Foot Fist Way

These days in Hollywood, ''low budget" films usually end up costing more than the runway rentals to land Steven Spielberg's ego. That's why it's so exciting to see truly low-budget films actually get made without all of the self-examination and scrutiny that comes with the ability to shoot more than one take. And it's even more fulfilling to have someone else notice. more ›

One of the great things about living in Los Angeles is that there are countless opportunities to see movies in advance for free. So Stick With Bushie... And Don't Watch The News

Will Ferrell's departure from Saturday Night Live has been a little painful. That's why it's a delight to see him reprising his famed role as President George W. Bush in "White House West," a new meta-spot that features Ferrell/Bush attempting to film a campaign ad. It was paid for by America Coming Together, a Democratic fund that deals with the media and Get-Out-The-Vote operations. more ›
