Both shopping plaza properties are owned by Rick Caruso, who says he has CVS as the new tenant slated to take over in Encino, but wants to work with Calabasas to keep B&N as an anchor store at his Commons property. Husband of Catherine Bach Found Dead after Apparent Suicide
"The Dukes of Hazzard" star Catherine Bach--she played Daisy Duke--apparently called police this morning saying her husband had shot and killed himself at their Encino home. When paramedics arrived to the home around 11:30 a.m. on the 15900 block of Woodvale Road, Lopez was already dead. Police are investigating it as a possible suicide.

Police on the Lookout for a 3-Woman Burglary Team
A trio of twenty-something women are sought by police after a handful of home burglaries in the West Valley, the LAPD announced today. The women are using the “Knock-Knock Burglar” method, which entails repeatedly knocking on the door and breaking through a back window if no one answers. In a home south of Ventura Boulevard in Encino last Friday, the three employed the technique, but fled when breaking a window triggered an alarm. They are suspected in two other Encino area burglars and are described as African Americans in their late twenties possibly using a gray or light colored compact.

A Van Nuys couple was arrested early this morning after California Highway Patrol officers pursued a man in a ski mask who allegedly had just robbed an IHOP in Encino.
