This is a good time to be a Kinks fan. Last year Ray Davies put out a solo album, then "A Well-Respected Man" and "This Time Tomorrow" popped up this year in movies like Juno and The Darjeeling Limited. And now a Kinks Retrospective box set is scheduled for release in 2008, and NME has announced that a reunion tour for the seminal 60s, fighting-brothers band The Kinks is supposed to take place this year.......

Denny Doherty, 66, of the 1960s, electo-folk foursome The Mamas & The Papas, died Friday at his home near Toronto. He suffered from kidney problems and was put on dialysis after surgery last month. As a member of The Mamas and the Papas, his contributions helped shape and spread the image of a golden, glowing, free-love, psychedelic, California lifestyle. Their music was rich with harmony and vocal precision, and maintained a laid-back, natural feel.......
