Curbed LA followed up on rumors that Trader Joe's is being considered as a possible tenant at the A.F. Gilmore 3rd and Fairfax retail project set to rise on the current site of a parking lot and plant nursery. Vice president for A.F. Gilmore, Mark Panatier, responded, "We're talking to lots of folks," regarding the retail space. When asked directly about Trader Joe's? he repeated, "We're talking to lots of folks." So... Not a YES!, but Curbed seems to think they're a contender. Err, probably.
A.F. Gilmore Considering Trader Joe's For Fairfax Project
Celebrating 75 Years of the Original Farmers Market
Last night the Original Farmers Market hosted a sold-out event as part of their week-long celebration of their 75th anniversary feeding Angelenos and visitors from all over the globe at the corner of 3rd and Fairfax. The Taste of the Farmers Market event found dozens of the markets vendors offering up bites and pieces of menu items, and attendees were free to roam the always-popular aisles of stalls and stations to pick up samples to enjoy.
Loteria! Grill at 3rd and Fairfax
Even though the Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax isn’t really a farmers market at all, Loteria! Grill alone stands out among the labyrinth of tchotchke-filled stores and food stands that make up this misnomer (and trend setter?) as a viable reason to brave the parking lot at the Grove. Named after Mexico’s answer to Bingo, Loteria!’s Zagat-rated and highly lauded open-air stand seems to belie its moniker; consistently excellent food here seems anything but a game of chance.
