A vehicle found on fire with a body inside this morning on a Studio City/Valley Village street has now turned into a bomb squad situation. Upon investigation, "some sort of wire" was found underneath the body, prompting them to call the bomb squad, according to a LAPD spokesperson. Human remains were discovered inside a vehicle that had been left burning underneath the 101 Freeway in Studio City. The LAFD responded to the fire call just after 3 this morning, and found the "dark colored 1989 Toyota Camry" parked on Radford Avenue at Hortense under the overpass, according to a live report on KTLA. The body was discovered once the blaze was extinguished, and the LAPD subsequently notified. The authorities have "determined that the death was of a suspicious nature," however no information about the identity of the corpse is known. A fatal crash caused the closure of all southbound lanes of the 101 Hollywood Freeway early this morning, according to NBC. The accident happened near Cahuenga Boulevard, and authorities believe that the initial 4:40 a.m. crash "might have triggered other crashes," and "at least three vehicle were believed to have be involved in at least two crashes." All lanes were shut down and a SigAlert issued at 5:29 this morning while California Highway Patrol officers investigated the scene. As of 7 a.m. at least two lanes have been reopened. One person involved died on scene; their name as not been released.
