For veggie and vegans, the nouveau gourmet food truck trend is a tough one to get on board when many of the menu items offered by the different innovative, fusion, or traditional restaurants on wheels. After much anticipation, the Mandoline Grill Truck was out last night at an event held at the Verdugo, showing off their selection of Vietnamese eats, of which about half are vegan. LA-based band The Soft Pack are hitting the road on Saturday--the roads of Los Angeles, that is. The San Diego-transplants (formerly known as The Muslims) will play 10 consecutive shows marathon-style all across town in an event that has them partnered with the FYF Fest and riding in a veggie-oil fueled 1992 Blue Bird school bus. The band is inviting fans to follow along all day or hit up spots wherever they can; while some of the locations have been announced some are still top secret, so you can follow the band via Twitter the day-of to see where their next stop is. more ›

t's about time, no? The Slice Truck is expected to hit the streets next week serving pizza to hungry crowds on the street, reports Eater LA. But no fancy chef or and catchy menu-item will be found here. It's a "bare bones" menu as Eater puts it. That means cheese and pepperoni slices, pop and chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Once upon a gorgeous SoCal Sunday, a group of friends journeyed to the tip of the county to enjoy brunch by the sea at the beautiful Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica.
