Restitution Taco: C.A.V.E. Gallery Opens Taco Art Show This Saturday

The art world has been tapping into the food community as of late, creating events like last weekend's Eats of Borneo event at the Blum and Poe Gallery and For Your Art's Made in L.A. food crafters exhibition. The C.A.V.E. Gallery is getting into the game now too, presenting a show with taco-focussed pieces by Restitution Press.

C.A.V.E. will unveil the solo show by Ryan Graeff of Restitution this Saturday, featuring a collection of work that celebrates L.A.'s iconic taco lifestyle. The pieces riff on the signage and cultural imagery of they city's legendary taquerias, trucks, and Mexican restaurants.

Graeff's pieces are made using a combination of screen print and paint using images captured over the years by L.A. TACO, the blog known for its annual Taco Madness competition and coverage of the local street art scene.

Of course, an event like this wouldn't be complete without a taco truck. No Que No Catering will provide, with their ride will be custom wrapped for the occasion. A special limited-edition 'zine will also be passed out at C.A.V.E., and an after party will go until the wee hours at Del Monte Speakeasy starting at 9 p.m.
