LA Kings defeat Vancouver Canucks 4-2. It’s not a playoff series until the home team loses. Well it’s officially a series. Dustin Penner - yes, that Dustin Penner - scored the winning goal with just over three minutes remaining in regulation while Dustin Brown bagged the empty-netter to ice the game. Mike Richards and Willie Mitchell also scored power-play goals.

LA Clippers defeat Oklahoma City Thunder 100-98. Chris Paul’s 31 points helped the Clippers come from behind on the road.

LA Lakers defeat San Antonio Spurs 98-84. Kobe Bryant sat for the third straight game, but who needs him when Andrew Bynum scores 16 points to go along with 30 rebounds? Ron Artest looked like the old Ron Artest scoring 26 points while Pau Gasol added 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Minnesota Twins defeat LA Angels 6-5. With the Angels leading 5-3 and runners on first and second in the seventh inning, Hisanori Takahashi came in to relieve starter Jered Weaver. You can guess what happened: Takahashi gave up the game-tying triple to Chris Parmelee. LaTroy Hawkins immediately replaced Takahashi, but a Jamey Carroll single brought Parmelee home as the winning run. All of this despite Peter Bourjos hitting a three-run inside-the-park homer in the fifth inning.

LA Dodgers defeat Pittsburgh Pirates 4-1. Andre Ethier’s RBI single in the sixth helped opened the game for the Dodgers.
