It's the first full week in March, which means the comedy competition shows are beginning in earnest. From weekly improv tournaments to a month-long stand up challenge at The Comedy Store, this is the month for comedy to start getting real.

The BEATdown, 8p Nerdist Theater. Eliza Skinner returns to bring battle to the hidden rap wannabe in every comic.
Natasha Leggero & Friends, 8:30p UCB. Leggero is at Largo with Zach Galifianakis, Reggie Watts and so many other great people you can’t imagine.
TUESDAY 3/6
The Groundlings Benefit, 8p Groundlings. It’s a night of high-profile improv from the likes of Joel McHale, Chip Esten, Jim Rash and more. An open bar helps to take the sting out of the $100 ticket price, with all proceeds going to update the ol’ gal of a theater.

Don’t Stop Or We’ll Die, 8:30p Largo. Harris Wittles of #HumbleBrag / Parks & Rec / Sarah Silverman Show has a comedy band with Michael Cassady and Paul Rust of everything-else fame. They’re funny.
March Comedy Madness, 10p The Comedy Store. It’s comedy tournament time all over town, with 64 stand ups opening up the first week of competition doing exactly one minute of material . Jeebus.

3-on-3 Tournament, 8p The Improv Space. It’s 3-man improv tournament time, and The Improv Space in Westwood kicks things off with a big one that runs through the whole month.
Comedy Extravaganza, 8p The Improv Lab. Matt Portman’s monthly comedy show celebrates Halloween in March, and has Josh Simpson, The Birthday Boys, Thunderpunch and more out to enjoy the festivities.
