Onetime "Celebrity Rehab" participant Rodney King won't be doing any jail time for a DUI arrest last summer in Riverside County. TMZ reports the headline-maker made infamous by another encounter with the law twenty years ago has struck a plea deal that lets him avoid time behind bars, "despite the fact he has a prior DUI conviction on his record."

TMZ calls today's plea bargain a "slap on the wrist" for King.

The July 12, 2011 incident involved King getting pulled over for on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. "Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Rodney's blood alcohol level was only .06 at the time of his arrest -- below the legal limit -- but marijuana was also found in his system."

Today's plea deal finds King sentenced to 20 days of house arrest, three years of summary probation, a $500 fine, and mandatory attendance in a 9-month alcohol education program. Paging Dr. Drew, paging Dr. Drew...

  • King should be put into a rehabĀ  that is not publicized. He obviously needs more treatment for his addiction. I don't think house arrest can help him recover.

  • They're just using him as an example because of his past.
