She's Giving Everyone Everything: World Hungers For A Slice Of Whitney Houston

News updates on the untimely death of Whitney Houston last Saturday are flooding the Interwebs, print media and social networking sites, making it impossible to forget the unfortunate event of February 11 that saw the end of an unforgettable talent. Regardless of the speculation, however, the cause of Houston's death still remains unknown until toxicology tests are completed, which could take weeks.

Quick to recover from Houston's death, the Beverly Hilton hotel is already welcoming reservations for the room where the singer died. It is, after all, a hotel and likely needs to return to business as usual. TMZ reports room 434 "is officially back in rotation - and someone is staying in it right now." Agents told the publication they're overwhelmed with an influx of requests for the "death room," as TMZ cleverly dubs it. TMZ also published some rather disturbing photos of "the death tub" where the late superstar's body was discovered as well as her last meal.

Investigators are probing the possibility of prescription drugs as contributors to Houston's death, as several bottles of prescription drugs were found in her hotel room. L.A. Times says "the amounts of drugs did not seem unusually large." Houston's medical team will be consulted regarding any underlying medical conditions she might have had. TMZ reported Monday that Houston visited two Beverly Hills doctors in five days during the days before her death, but reports do not specify what kind of doctors she saw. The songstress could have simply been getting her teeth cleaned and catching up on regular check-ups.

Diary Of A Hollywood Street King says Houston's on-again off-again boyfriend, R&B singer Ray J, is under investigation by the Beverly Hills PD. He was reportedly "partying and getting high with Whitney Houston on Friday night," the evening before her death. Kelly Price, who performed with Houston Thursday night, shunned claims that Houston was partying too hard that night. Price told CNN’s Soledad O’Brien, "Yes, she was a little messy as I was, as every other person was at 2:00, 3:00, 3:30 when I left in the morning after having fun half the night. Dancing half the night, it was that. It was nothing more than that."

In lighter Houston news, a tribute to the singer at the 54th annual Grammy Awards Sunday sent the show's ratings through the roof and into the universe - attracting 39.9 million viewers. The awards show has not reached an audience of that size since 1984, when Michael Jackson swept the awards. If you missed Sunday's show, Jennifer Hudson belted out an emotional rendition of Houston's hit, "I Will Always Love You," which you can view here.
