Classical Pick of the Week: Chicago Symphony Orchestra
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is making a rare detour into Southern California this Friday the 17th at the OC Performing Arts Center. The CSO, the New York Phil, and the Cleveland Orchestra, are helping the San Francisco Symphony celebrate its 100th anniversary this season. Lucky for us, the Philharmonic Society in Orange County is a partner and will be featuring these world class orchestras throughout the season.
The programincludes Honegger's Pacific 231, Alternative Energy by Mason Bates, and Franck's underrated Symphony in D minor. Concert is this Friday and you can get tickets here. The orchestra will be conducted by Ricardo Muti.
If you missed out on Mahler's Symphony of a Thousand and want to watch, it's coming to a theatre near you this Saturday the 18th. Find local theatres and more information here.
