Medical Assistant Arrested For Allegedly Touching Patient's Groin, Stroking Patients' Hair
A medical assistant at Saddleback Hospital in Laguna Hills was arrested at his Orange home Wednesday night on allegations of molesting three patients.
Narciso Romanes Blando, 47, works at the hospital as a patient care assistant and may have taken very poor care of at least three of his patients, all of whom were under the influence of prescription-strength pain medication. The first alleged victim to report Blando's actions is a patient in her 50s. She says Blando touched her groin area as he was rubbing pain cream on her ankles Monday night. The woman told hospital officials Blando stopped per her request.
Following Monday's incident, another patient of similar age says she awoke to Blando stroking her hair and kissing her face around 1am. He complied when she asked him to stop.
A third patient claims Blando kissed her on the face and stroked her hair. Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department did not know when this alleged incident occurred.
Blando was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. Investigators suspect there are additional victims.
