Top Sheriff's Department Official Arrested for Drunk Driving

A Sheriff's Department official was found last night passed out in her car in the middle of the Foothill Freeway with a blood alcohol level of .20, which is over twice the legal limit.

City News Service reports that Natalie Salazar was discovered after police received a number of calls reporting a vehicle stopped in the middle lane of the highway. When officials arrived, they found Salazar with her head on the steering wheel and her foot on the brake. She was arrested and taken into custody.

Salazar serves as the head of the sheriff's Community/Law enforcement Partnership Program. She's been arrested for drunk driving before, in 2009. She kept her position but was put on probation. She's now been placed on leave again.

no one died so i can laugh, but this just shows the hypocrisy in law enforcement. Weed is still the evil substance although i've never heard of someone getting stoned and doing this.

Uhh,someone being stoned would be so relaxed that they could fall asleep at the wheel.

Couple of months ago I saw a car in front of me swerving a little and slowing down/speeding up. When I pulled up next to it to see what was going on, it was a dude smoking weed - and was swerving because he couldn't keep his damn eyes open.

I called police but as usual, they were useless and the guy actually made it home. I followed him in case he actually hit someone, and he almost hit a car every 2 minutes as he was drifting into their lanes. He also seemed to have fallen asleep at stop light for a few seconds (after making it off the freeway) - waking up from all the horns.

So don't think that driving while high is any safer than drinking - your reaction time is still a factor and THAT is a problem.

Not that I have anything against weed, I'm just really passionately against anyone that does anything to affect their driving, putting other people at risk - especially me on my motorcycle. This includes eating, drinking, makeup, dancing/singing, texting, and talking to kids/passengers. Anyone of those things are taking away from the thing you NEED to be focused on - the road and your surroundings.

well driving and doing anything is pretty much illegal and i wont defend it. That guy deserves to go to jail. It's just these stories typically end up with a drunk behind the wheel, a stat that could change if marijuana was made legal. I smoke everyday and can't think of a time where i got that messed up and i dab with bho. Its just something I prefer to do at home, while drinking is typically a 'drive to go do' type of activity.

What a #$% idiot, if she was just arrested a couple of years ago, she should $#@% know it's not a good idea to drive drunk, putting everyone in danger - a car could have rammed right into her at high speeds - on THE FREEWAY.
