Step right up, Mr. Moneybags! The Dodgers are for sale, and there are quite a few bidders, like basketball legend Magic Johnson and retired Major League Baseball (MLB) Executive Vice President Joe Torre, who has teamed up with real estate developer Rick Caruso.

The latest addition to the bidding circle boasts a family connection to a very familiar and very rich name - Trump. But it's not Donald making a play to score the team. It's his 31-year-old son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Married to Ivanka Trump, Kushner would be the youngest owner in MLB, says NY Daily News. He's the son of Manhattan real estate tycoon Charles Kushner and the owner and publisher of the New York Observer.

But beware, L.A. If Kushner does buy the Dodgers, he could face pressure to move the team back to Brooklyn. The New York Observer editor Elizabeth Spiers tweeted about lobbying for the move Tuesday.

Kushner's bid is one of at least nine to advance in the ownership sweepstakes and has yet to be announced publicly by the prominent bidder. L.A. Times says the bid "was confirmed by a person familiar with the sale process but not authorized to discuss it." The bid would be funded primarily by the Kushner family, and unfortunately, their net worth is not available to public eyes.

The deadline for bidding on the Dodgers was January 23. Outgoing owner Frank McCourt will carefully select his replacement and is reportedly looking for a passionate someone. The winner is expected to be announced in April, and the sale should be completed by the end of the month.
