Second Teacher Under Investigation at Miramonte Elementary [UPDATED]
A second teacher has been removed from Miramonte Elementary School in South Los Angeles, the same school at which former teacher Mark Berndt is accused of performing bondage acts on students as young as seven.
KTLA reports that the allegations came up yesterday, and that the teacher, whose name hasn't been released, wasn't permitted in the school today.
The nature of the allegations also haven't been released, and according to the L.A. Times, while a criminal investigation is being conducted against the individual, no formal charges have been filed.
However, the case is being handled by the special victims unit, which handles sex crimes.
The teacher is reportedly being held in an area where he won't have access to students, notes the Times, like a district office.
UPDATED 15:15 pm: The teacher has been identified as Martin Bernard Springer and we have more details about the allegations.
