Which 5 L.A. Restaurants Are Among The "Most Romantic" in America?

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and the concept of "romance" is being pummeled into us all from every possible front, including where we eat. Now OpenTable has released a list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America, and five Los Angeles-area spots made the grade.

The list uses 5 million diners' reviews to determine which restaurants make eaters swoon in their seats. Representing L.A. are: Il Cielo Gardens Restaurant & Bar in Beverly Hills, Yamashiro in Hollywood, Sir Winston's Aboard The Queen Mary in Long Beach, The Sky Room in Long Beach, and The Little Door in Los Angeles.

It seems the romance nod goes for themed decor, unique views, or quaint charm--or some combination thereof.

Of course, romance is what you make of it at mealtime, from a simple picnic in the park with your honey to staring into each others' eyes over a Korean BBQ grill, and, sure, even at a cozy table for two in a fancy restaurant.

There are a ton of other romantic L.A. restaurants, though, like Cicada, Providence, Cliff's Edge, The Roof on Wilshire, Café Pinot, Lucques, or any number of snug bistros in neighborhoods all over town, any of which could have easily found a home on this list.

So, lovers, we ask: What table for two gets your vote for "most romantic" in L.A.?

Paru's on Sunset and Normandie, or the Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga...

  • Providence is wonderful if you are a foodie. My husband and I will be going to Cicada.

    love little door. fantastic spot

  • Cicada is wonderful, especially if you and your date love the 20's-40's time period it celebrates. The dancing and music is stellar; beautiful building too. Sir Winston's is also a really cool, unique experience.

I actually looked at reservations at Sky Room and Villa Blanca for Valentines, but my date didn't love the limited options at either for that day's special menu, so we're planning on going to both later, during a normal menu day. We ended up with reservations to Pace, on Laurel Canyon, which I'd not heard of, but had a ton of good reviews as a date place. Here's hoping it works out!

My vote for most romantic would be Perch in Downtown LA.
