A shooting at a Thai restaurant in Hollywood on Friday night leaves one woman dead and a man injured.
The incident occurred at Pink Pepper on Hollywood Boulevard and was reported to police at 10:17pm. L.A Now says the shooting followed an argument on the eatery's patio. A man allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at the woman, who attempted to grab the weapon. Three shots were fired, striking the victims and shattering patio glass.
The woman, who was believed to have been in her 30s, was shot once and pronounced dead at a local hospital. The man suffered two gunshot wounds and underwent surgery for his injuries. He is expected to live, says City News Service. Neither of the victim's names have been released.
Police are investigating the shooting and have ruled out two initial male suspects who fled in a black sedan. LAPD spokeswoman Norma Eisenman says it is unclear as to whether or not the victims knew each other. A motive has yet to be determined.
Friday night's shooting was one of half a dozen shootings in the city overnight, including a gang shooting at the Mayan nightclub in Downtown L.A.
