World's Worst Pet Owner Throws Chihuahua Puppy In Trash

In the market for a Chihuahua? On Tuesday morning, a male Chihuahua puppy, aged presumably just a few weeks, was discovered crying at the bottom of a trash bin at a gas station in Colton. The pup has since been rescued and temporarily adopted, but the current caretakers are searching for a permanent home for their new addition.

A woman found the weeping pup at the gas station where she works. "She was inside working," says Maria Nelson, mother of the woman, according to CBS LA. "And one of the customers heard the puppy crying." Since the Nelson's home is already crawling with critters, the abandoned dog was taken to the home of a friend, Cindy Lundgren, who is "disappointed that somebody would throw him in the garbage like a piece of trash."

Seriously. Who tosses a puppy in the trash?

Still "trembling and whimpering Wednesday night," the pup has received all necessary shots and is ready for adoption. Lundgren must "hang on to him, legally, for three weeks," she says, but cannot keep the puppy due to a current total of seven pets in her home.

Unfortunately, the gas station surveillance cameras failed to capture the suspect dumping the pup. Tracking him or her down will be no easy task for police.

Any takers?

Chihuahua's are a pretty lousy choice of dogs, but come on! Throwing one in the garbage is just cruel.
