Funniest Part Of $36K/Plate Obama Fundraiser Will Be Host Will Ferrell
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are escaping the dreadful East Coast weather to enjoy the warmer, sunnier Los Angeles climate in coming weeks. Well, they're not actually visiting SoCal to bask in our coveted winter sunshine; they're here on business. And one particular event has named a rather surprising celebrity as its host: comedian Will Ferrell.
Listed as an event co-chair along with wife Viveca and seven others, Ferrell is reportedly hosting the event but will not impersonate the president, according to BuzzFeed. If any of you know locals Colleen and Bradley Bell, their home will house the soiree, complete with cocktails and dinner, on Wednesday, February 15 at 5pm.
And guess what! You, too, can imbibe, dine and rub elbows will Ferrell and Obama! Tickets are only $35,800. Be sure to RSVP here.
In other White House on the West Coast news, Michelle Obama will speak at two Democratic National Committee fundraisers in the Southland on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, as well as make appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," according to City News Service. Her Ellen segment is slated to air Thursday, February 2. Michelle's television mission is to promote the anniversary of her Let's Move! initiative, which combats childhood obesity. She will also highlight Northgate Gonzales Markets' efforts to provide healthier food options in traditionally under-served areas during a Wednesday morning event with Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts and Robert Ross, CEO of The California Endowment.
Let us know if you fork up the dough for the fundraiser. We want deets on the eats, drinks and Ferrell funnies.
