Injured Man Climbs Out of Ravine After Car Tumbles 500 Feet Off Angeles Crest Highway, 1 Killed and Another Injured
One man is dead and two others are seriously injured after their car tumbled 500 feet off the side of the Angeles Crest Highway into a ravine in the Angeles National Forest.
One of the injured men was able to climb back up to the road and flag down help, but it was too late for Vigen Sarkisyan, 18, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to City News Service. The two other men who were about the same age were transported to the hospital with major injuries.
The sheriff's Montrose Search and Rescue Team and Emergency Services got a call about the crash around Mile Marker 41 on the highway around 2:35 pm yesterday. The Crescenta Valley sheriff's station is investigating the accident, but there are no details about what caused the car to take a tumble.
