Video: Angeleno Documents Her Entire Year In Under 8 Minutes
2011 from hey_rabbit on Vimeo.
If you shot video of every day of your life in 2011, would you be able to find an entertaining second, a memorable clip, daily? L.A.-based artist and photographer Madeline Schichtel tackled said project, and her result, "2011," chronicles a local lady who gets out and seizes the countless opportunities L.A. presents as often as a working woman can.
Sure, some days are more interesting than others, but Schichtel says, "I'd made this video for myself as a way to keep my usually shy-self active and lift my spirits when I'm down about work, paying rent, figuring... everything out." Thanks to DesignTaxi, we caught wind of the project today, about a week after Schichtel posted her creation on Vimeo.
Her process was simple. "I shot a little video every day of 2011 on my Canon Powershot, then I edited it all down to a little over a second each," says Schichtel. Viewers watch as she eats, drinks, rides, drives, flies, jumps, reads, writes, walks, strums, bakes, knits, rocks, bathes, paints, plays with cats, draws and, well, lives. It's her year in review, and if you have eight spare minutes, we highly recommend you press play.
