On Monday, Sheriff's deputies opened up an investigation into skeletal remains found in Lopez Canyon, which is near Lakeview Terrace in the unincorporated San Fernando Valley.

Deputies announced today that they found some interesting clues: it appears that the skeleton—whose gender is still undetermined—had a gunshot wound to the skull, and there was a handgun nearby. Homicide detectives are investigating the case.

The skeleton was found half a mile north of Bailey Road, which is on the edge of the Angeles National Forest just north of the Valley.

    Hmmm....
Dunno why, but given the location I get this funny feeling this may have been a suicide.
We may or may not ever know what really happened...
