A passenger on a bus punched a 26-year-old lady in the face twice, took her cell phone and ran away early in the morning about a week ago, police say.

The robbery happened at 6:15 a.m. on January 9 near the intersection of Pico and La Cienega boulevards, according to police. The suspect took off running when the bus came to a stop. Although police have a picture of the suspect, they have yet to find him and they're asking for the public's help. Here's their description of the suspect:

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 20-27 years-old, brown eyes, 5’6” tall, weighs around 180-200 pounds and has a shaved head. He was seen wearing a black beanie, black jacket, checkered pants, blue and white shoes.

The woman had minor injuries after the robbery and was treated at the scene.

  • I see at least 3 other "men" in the picture.  Cowards didn't stand up and do anything?  This is the problem with our society.  Stand up for each other, next time it may be your wife.  If that guy got the crap beat out of him I'm sure he would think twice before trying it again.  But criminals know that they just have to look scarey and people won't step in.

This image could have been captured when he was getting on the bus, before he assaulted the woman.

I appreciate your sentiment, and I hate that a woman was assaulted, but no one should get shot in the head over a phone (or anything else). (http://laist.com/2012/01/10/ma... -- Hero if you can, but don't get yourself killed.
