Blue Palms Brew House in Peril Thanks to Music Box Closure

The Music Box at the Henry Fonda closing isn't just affecting music fans in Los Angeles, it's also putting the tenure of the Blue Palms Brewhouse in peril, since they are housed within the venue. It seems what forced the venue to close was the landlord losing the lease, and now the popular Hollywood eatery with a great beer list may be in jeopardy.

"We are trying everything in our power to remain open so that we may continue providing the community with great food and beer. Thank you all for the support," they posted this afternoon on Facebook.

Blue Palms elaborates, again via Facebook:

To all our Fans, In light of our landlord losing their lease, we are in middle of the fallout. WE are working very hard to work directly with the owner to resolve. The Blue Palms is a small company and in the world of sterile business, we are pawns. Please stay tuned, we love you guys and we are doing our best to convince the owners of our worth. Please help us in posting your support and we hope to keep you posted.
So far it's not clear what kind of support would be most helpful to the restaurant and bar as they work this out.

  • Terrible news. The BEST craft beer place in all of L.A. Better than gimmicky and prissy Father's Office, et al. No frills, great food, great beer, and awesome bar staff at Bluepalms.

  • Well, The Music Box was a money making business, too.

  • Jonathan Kleinbart

Completely agree, except I'm there sometimes twice a week!  Would be a HUGE loss, but I'm sure they can work it out with the landlord.  Why wouldn't they want the space filled with a money making business??

  • This is hands-down the best beer bar in Los Angeles. I'm there at least twice a month. Losing this place for such a weird reason would be a personal tragedy and a tragedy to the craft beer community of LA.
