Penis-Chopping Wife Indicted Today Of Torture & Aggravated Mayhem

Catherine Kieu, also known as Catherine Kieu Becker, 48, was charged with torture and aggravated mayhem by the Orange County grand jury today, reports The OC Register. Additionally, she faces a sentencing enhancement allegation of using a knife in the alleged attack.
After poisoning her 60-year-old husband's tofu soup, Kieu reportedly tied her husband's arms and legs to the corners of his bed and used a 10-inch knife to sever his member during his slumber on July 11. She dialed 911 and later told authorities that her husband deserved it.
Why the vicious attack? The couple was apparently arguing over a future houseguest's visit.
Married for about a year and a half, the couple were in the midst of a divorce at the time of the incident. Although Kieu's husband had filed for divorce - citing "irreconcilable differences" - six months prior to the knife attack, he allowed her to continue living with him "because she had nowhere else to go," Garden Grove police Lt. Jeff Nightengale told CBS LA.
Kieu's arraignment is slated for Monday, and she is being held on $1 million bail. If convicted, she faces up to life in prison without parole.
The victim has since recovered from the castration, but doctors were unable to reattach his organ.
