He's Ours! David Beckham Will Stay With the L.A. Galaxy
Los Angeles, he's ours: Popular soccer star David Beckham has opted to remain in L.A. to play with the Galaxy, rather than join Paris Saint-Germain, the club announced today. Beckham was in negotiations with the French club for several weeks, according to the Associated Press, however the 36-year-old star ultimately decided against uprooting his wife and children from their home in L.A.
Now that he's made up his mind, "Beckham will try to finalize a new, rolling one-year contract this week with the Galaxy, which was paying him an annual base salary of $6.5 million," notes the AP.
Beckham is married to former Spice Girl Victoria. The couple have four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
Of Beckham's decision, PSG President Nasser al-Khelaifi said "We feel a little disappointed," but hinted there could be a deal sometime in the future.
