Pasadena Police report that they made 10 arrests overnight along the Rose Parade Route, with nearly half being for public drunkenness.

Six of the arrests were for misdemeanors, of which four were for being drunk in public, says City News Service. The remaining four were unspecified felony arrests. Local officials say that number is a significant decrease from previous recent years.

Police in Pasadena are also keeping close tabs on the Occupy the Rose Parade group, who have been granted permission to march after the last official Rose Parade float and behind police escorts. The last float is set to depart at 9:30 a.m. Following the parade, the Occupy protesters are expected to hold a gathering at Pasadena City Hall.

"They have stated that they are not interested, nor do they intend to disrupt the parade, to act in a criminal or malicious behavior. They simply want to follow the parade as discussed in many of our meetings,'' Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez said.
