Pasadena's Occupy Group Doesn't Support the Occupy the Rose Parade Protest
A group of Occupy protesters will be taking part in the Occupy the Rose Parade (OTRP) event come Monday morning, however they do not have the support or participation of the local Pasadena "Occupy" folks.
"Local activists who assemble under the banner of Occupy Pasadena declined to give their endorsement to the organizer of the Rose Parade protest, Peter Thottam, a Venice activist," according to L.A. Now.
While the Occupy the Rose Parade participants don't plan on disrupting the 123rd annual spectacle, some Pasadenians who support the occupy movement don't completely see "the wisdom of demonstrating on the day of the avowedly nonpolitical, family-friendly parade."
According to OTRP's official site, "OTRP's actions will be completely Peaceful, Nonviolent and Respectful of Pasadena's Iconic tradition."
“The Rose Parade is our chance to get our message out to mainstream America,” said Occupy the Rose Parade organizer and Pasadena resident David Cutter, according to the Pasadena Sun.
