Disneyland's Holiday Fireworks Put On Hold After Worker Was Injured
Disneyland's annual holiday fireworks show was put on hold this week after a worker putting on the show was injured.
Disneyland has canceled its "Believe in Holiday Magic" fireworks show seven of the last eight nights — the lone night they brought it back was Christmas — but the resort is hoping that tonight is the night that it will return for good, according to City News Service.
The show was put on hold after the device that shoots off the fireworks malfunctioned on December 22. The worker who was loading the fireworks managed to get away from the device just as the fireworks exploded on the ground. He avoided burns, according to the OC Register, but the explosion was loud enough to cause him hearing problems. Both the Division of Occupational Safety and Health and the state Fire Marshal’s office were notified, and state safety workers are planning to conduct an inspection.
The canceled signature shows haven't stopped anyone from going to the happiest place on earth this week. The park was filled to capacity on Tuesday and Wednesday.
