Video: 'Tis the Season for Groveling
We're all about pop culture-fueled holiday traditions (as if there were any other kind), so today we dedicate our video lunch to a little-discussed holiday tradition: groveling.
In this [admittedly shaky camcorder] "When Harry Met Sally" clip, Harry reminds Sally of this tradition:
Harry leaves this message on her machine:
It's the holiday season, and I thought I'd remind you this is the season of charity and forgiveness and — although it's not widely known — it is also the season of groveling. So if you feel like calling me back, I'd be more than happy to do the traditional season groveling.
Of course, this is not just any sort of groveling. This is groveling in the hopes of convincing The Girl to partake in that other non-denominational holiday tradition: ringing in the New Year with a kiss at the stroke of midnight.
