Threat of Getting Booted From 'Real Housewives' Caused Taylor Armstrong to File for Divorce
Taylor Armstrong had already left her husband Russell by the time he was found dead from suicide back in August of this year. But it turns out that what prompted her to leave wasn't his alleged physical and emotional abuse -- it was Bravo and NBC execs deciding to kick the couple off the show.
Radar Online reports that Russell began sending the networks threatening letters, telling them that he intended to sue after finding out that Taylor and the other ladies had been casually discussing his alleged abuse over tea (while cameras rolled). Executives at the network decided that the Armstrongs weren't worth the hassle, and so told them that they'd be nixed from the show altogether.
Apparently, that was the boost that Taylor needed to get out of the relationship, and so she filed for divorce with the idea that the move would preserve her role on the show.
Maybe being on reality TV is a lot more fun than it looks like.
