Hazmat Team Called In To Swanky Westside Gym Because of Pepper Spray

We all know by now to beware of Walmart shoppers on Black Friday, but it turns out Westside fitness nuts hitting the gym during the holidays are not safe from pepper spray.

A hazmat team was called to The Sports Club/LA — a fancy Westside gym that claims it was featured in Vogue — to deal with some sort of chemical irritant that was making it hard for gym-goers to breathe, according to City News Service. Four of them were treated at the scene.

The culprit turned out to be pepper spray, but firefighters haven't figured out why or how pepper spray got out of its canister.

Maybe someone cut in line for the treadmills?
