Griffen Kramer, the 18-year-old Thousand Oaks High School quarterback found dead in October at a buddy's house, died of a heroin overdose, according to toxicology reports released by the L.A. County coroner's office, says L.A. Now.

The athlete's body showed no signs of foul play, said investigators after Kramer's death. Initial suspicions pointed towards possible alcohol poisoning as cause of death.

Kramer, who is the son of former NFL quarterback Erik Kramer, was known to have struggled with drugs in the past.

Five people were arrested in conjunction with Kramer's death. One of the suspects, 19-year-old David Nernberg, was arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter. Authorities believe Nernberg provided Kramer with the heroin, and when Kramer became sick and passed out, Nernberg drove around trying to find friends willing to take care of Kramer. Nernber ultimately hauled Kramer's body to his own home, and dragged him into his bedroom. By the time Nernberg called authorities in the morning, Kramer "had probably already been dead for hours, sheriff's officials said."

The coroner's toxicology report did not include a secondary cause of death.

I want everyone her to know this is exactly why alot of overdoses die.  Everyone is scared to take a person to the hospital if they think the person overdosed.  they are afraid THEY will get arrested and they didnt make the person take the drugs.  I was out a house once a guy overdosed.  He quit breathing.  everyone ran out of the house and left.  I grabbed one before he could leave and made him help me pick the overdosed person up and put in my car.  I made this guy drive my car, so that i could give the victim resucitation on the way. I am a resipratory therapist and knew this person would die.  Luckily we got him there in time and they gave him Narcan.  Thats all that is needed, Narcan.  But the pollice scare the shit out of everyone, and thus they are afraid to save a life. There  should be a law where  they cant arrest people for saving someones fucking lives. unbelieveable
