Sasha Grey has always pushed the boundaries in her career, but she probably never anticipated that of all the things that she had done in her career reading to first-graders at a school in Compton would turn out to cause such a stir. A similar scandal erupted in Boston last month, when Fox reported that a local English teacher had a past as a gay porn star. The teacher denied it initially but he was later put on administrative leave.

When Grey got asked onto the View to discuss her reading-to-first-graders scandal, we asked what we all were so afraid of. In the same vein, adult actress Aurora Snow penned a piece for The Daily Beast, asking whether her work in porn should completely disqualify her from ever working with young school children:

Am I fit to be around school children? I have no criminal record, am currently enrolled in college, and I take care of my quadriplegic brother and three school-age nephews. I also happen to be an adult actress, a “pornstar,” and after 10 years of performing, yes, I have earned that title. But being an adult actress would not make me unfit to be a mother when the time comes, nor am I now unfit to take my nephews to their school basketball games.

Snow says that she entered the work of adult entertainment, fully understanding that it would close other avenues to her such as working with children. But she asks why it is the case that the public seems to consider her work having consensual sex gets put in the same category as child molestation. She believes that the answer to the question "Am I fit to be around school children?" should be answered with a resounding yes.

People with a history of violent careers would not face anywhere near the scrutiny. I am certain the loins of these ladies didn't hurt anyone ever!

there are certain negative connotations that go along with being involved in porn. there are certain feelings people have about people who get paid to have sex on camera being around children. people assume there is something morally or mentally wrong with people who willingly choose to do it.

i understand that some people feel like what they do or have done in the past shouldnt determine their future. and on the flip side some of these parents might be waaaay worse for the kid than a pornstar is anyways. but its a lot like the situation former felons find themselves in. depending on what their crime was, you probably wouldnt want them around your kids either.

all that said, this is all a stunt for her book and for that reason only, shes lame as shit. she knew what she was doing; she did it for attention. in addition, she went to the hood to try and get away with it because if you were to take that shit to brentwood, it would be the end of her little career and life in general. it was a tacky thing to do to generate some attention around your new book no one is reading.

if anything, shes not fit to be around children because shes a scheming attention whore. we can get into the whole porn thing after she addresses that.

  • Wait people want to.... make.... money? And sometimes they do that by writing books?

Oh my god, wait until the people outside hear about this! They should all be strung up I say! Hmm, or maybe I should grow up instead. Nah!

make all the money you want off books. just dont exploit inner city children for your publicity stunt to sell a book no one is reading. or fuck for a living and ask why people dont want you around their kids.

    oh boy.

  • Some of these 'pornstars' are more fit to be around children than the children's own biological parents.
