Does the weather where people in the U.S. and around the globe live make them happy? That's what an iPhone weather app's "Happiness Index" seeks to determine. Weathermob has taken how users feel about the weather win their city and ranked the findings from most to least happy.

So with out perpetually sunny skies, does Los Angeles rank number one? Nope. We come in smack in the middle of the 20 ranked American cities. The two happiest weather cities are in the Sunshine State: Miami and Tampa, Florida, at #1 and #2 respectively. The Windy City has people feeling more smiley than blustery, since Chicago comes in at #3. Los Angeles makes the list at #11. Two other California cities rank higher--San Francisco at #5 and San Diego at #9. Bringing up the rear are Houston at #19 and Detroit at #20.

Internationally, people in the United Kingdom come in as happier about their weather than Americans.

Chicago obviously has beaten wife syndrome. "I know mother nature has been a bitch recently but she brought us a 50 degree day. Let's grab our swimsuits and head to the beach. I know this spot without much snow. Isn't the weather great today!"
