Hipster's Paradise: Mustache and Beard Contest at Silver Lake Public Library Tonight
Ladies of Silver Lake, have you been trying to find that one special man with the biggest...beard on the east side?
Well then, make your way down to the Silver Lake Public Library tonight, where the lenders of the written word will host the first annual Beard and Mustache Competition. Men with facial hair of all shapes and sizes will be there, competing to win the coveted first prize in categories including Hipster, Santa Claus, Most Scholarly, Most Outrageous and Go Big or Go Home.
The contest will be judged by the illustrious Joel Stein, he of the sardonic Time magazine column, and formerly of the Op-Ed pages of the L.A. Times. The event is sponsored by beloved east coast watering holes the Cha Cha Lounge, the Red Lion and the Silver Lake Wine Shop, as well as Friends of the Silver Lake Library, Rockaway Records and Relapse Records.
The contest will start at 6:00 p.m. sharp, so put on your most ironic of t-shirts and come on down to try to land yourself a be-facial-haired gent.
