Couple Robbed While Home in Sherman Oaks, Man Beaten and Put in Closet
A man in his 60s was beaten and tied up during a home invasion and robbery in Sherman Oaks last night, reports City News Service.
The assailants forced their way into the home on 4900 block of Matilija Avenue near Westfield Fashion Square at about 8:30 p.m. after knocking on the door and saying they had a package for the couple who owns the home. The man was hit on the head several times, reports KTLA, leaving him with minor injuries to his forehead. The suspects then zip-tied his hands and placed him in a closet.
Meanwhile, his wife was able to make her way into a bathroom where she called 911. The assailants grabbed money and jewelry and then left.
